Heather Mahler

Heather is a wife, mom and yoga teacher...but what she really does is nurture wounded souls and bring people back to their bodies. Whether it's privately, or in a group setting, she will encourage you to slow down,connect to your breath, and learn to listen to yourself first.

Heather has been a lover of movement since she began ballet classes at the age of 3, dancing as a member of the Toledo Ballet Company from the ages of 15-23.
She turned to yoga in 1998 to support her chronically ill/ special needs son and has felt a strong and ever present calling to deepen her yoga studies since his passing in 2003. Heather feels specifically aligned with the healing aspects that yoga has to offer everyone, as well as the symmetry between yoga and dance.

Heather is a 2012 graduate of Still Waters Yoga Teacher Training and is a member in good standing of the Yoga Alliance.

Heather Mahler instructs the following:
  • Level 1-2: Yin and Restore Yoga
  • In this class "We don't use our body to get into a pose, we use the pose to get into our body."
    You will begin the class with connection to breath, mind and body, releasing the stresses of the day. From there you will move into long holds of poses (Yin) specifically designed to, over time, change the state of fascia, connective tissue, ligaments and regain space and strength in the joints. Each class will end with a calming, supported restorative pose as savasana.
    This class is a floor based, slow, contemplative practice that is suitable for all levels of yoga experience; variation options offered.

    Benefits of this class may include:
    • learning to surrender and soften to what feels unchangeable;
    • bringing a calm, steadiness to body and mind;
    • shifting your perspective;
    • acceptance for where you're at in this present moment;
    • developing a nurturing love for yourself;
    Yin=yielding, allowing, nourishing.

    "When I soften, open, accept, and receive, the flow of energy is immediate. Nothing more is needed to awaken completely than the intimate experience of now." ~Danna Faulds
